Below is my testimony that I shared when I got baptized last August on the 14th.  Which also happens to be my wedding anniversary.   My friend and mentor and I firmly believe this date was chosen by God to be my baptism date to have something to celebrate that day.  There ended up not being enough people signed up at church to have it, however with the significance of the day we had a private baptism at one of the Pastor's house in his pool in front of my church family  and friends.

I was raised Catholic and have always believed in God however I never knew what a real relationship with Jesus Christ was, after being confirmed in the Catholic Church I felt lost and alone, I was empty and longing for something but never finding what it was I wanted and in turn the further from Christ I became,   thought I had found it once again when I married my husband 12 years ago today.  I was wrong, my husband later walked out and again I felt lost, and confused.   Turns out that is one of God’s Blessings.    On January 8=7.3pxth 2012 God spoke to me and said it was time to come back to church and to him.  I came to CrossWay and immediately got connected with Women’s Ministry and other woman in the Church, a year later I attended a Joyce Meyer Conference and gave my life back to Christ.  It wasn’t until I started volunteering in Kids Ministry that I really learned what an authentic relationship with Jesus was and I yearned for it.  Since then I’ve refocused my life, openly seeking him, I’ve forgiven my husband and pray that he will someday find a relationship with God. I’ve distanced myself from those who brought me down and led me astray, I now strive for a deeper and fuller relationship with God and my family including my 5 beautiful nieces hoping that they will one day find a true relationship with Christ.  I was lost but now I am found.

Tuesdays SOAK

S: that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other. (Romans 1:12)
O: by being together with other believers we can build each other up and encourage each other
A: we are meant to be in community, being with others helps build each other up when things are tough etc.
K:  Lord I thank you for the gift of community, and for various ways to connect with people.  Help me to remember that I have a community to turn to when Satan is trying to gain control of my mind, and shake my faith.

A:  I need to remember that grace obtained through Jesus and I have a calling to go out and share the good news with other non-believers, brining them to know him.
K:  Lord I thank you for the grace you have given me though Im not worthy, help me to share your Good News with others bringing them to you.

I haven't done my SOAK yet, however  I did want to pop in and share my thoughts on the Discussion Question.

Since coming back to Christ and leaving the Catholic Church I've had a hard time with sharing my faith with my family, as they are all "Catholics"  though not active in their faith.  Nothing against the Catholic Church it just wasn't a good fit for me.  So  I just never said anything about it, I wish I would have been more open about it.  Now I don't shy away from it and my boss and I at work will talk about it lunch etc.    It took one co-worker of mine who unfortunately doesn't work their anymore who helped me open up about my faith.  I still have problems staring however I have no problem openly admitting I am a Christian.  Easier for me to say it to strangers but not people I know as I fear being judged and rejected.  More and more its starting to not matter wether or not I am or not.

I did my readings, but not my soaks yet.  But I did want to send an update,   So my mom had her cancer scan yesterday. today she got the results.  They found a spot on her lung that they will remove and do a biopsy on.  They do believe its going to come back cancerous but feel they caught it early enough and that she'll only need radiation.  She's pretty upbeat about the whole thing and is happy to have some real answers.  So sometime next week she should be going in for surgery.

I got through the readings, hopefully tonight isn't to late of a night and I will get my SOAK's posted.  Please pray for my mom as she had a biopsy last week that came back not conclusive and they are now having her tested for cancer.  She battled it 5 years ago and beat it.  She's scared and stressed out and I'm just emotionally wrung out.  She goes in Wednesday for a cancer scan.  Thank you!

Luke 16

Luke 16:15

S: Jesus said to them, " You try to make yourselves look good in the eyes of other people, but God knows your heart.  What people think is worth a lot is hated by God.

O: No matter what you try and do on the outside,  God see whats on the inside of people.

A: Don't go around trying to please everyone else,  Seek and do what is pleasing to God, as an early verse states, you can't serve two masters.

K: God help me to always seek and serve only you, and to stop trying to please others.

I've been ready but haven't been able to get on, It seems to work if I work on my soaks during lunch,
Luke 15

Luke 15:8  S  Suppose a woman has 10 Silver Coins but she loses one of them, she will take light and clean the house, she will look carefully for the coin until she finds it.

O: in my study bible i read that the 10 silver coins is about a days wage, when I digged dipper in a commentary,  I got more.  God wants us to see the importance of restoration of lost souls.

A:  The parable reminds me that God is always seeking us, those who have given their lives to him and those that are still lost.

K: Lord I pray that I will always want to seek you and I also pray for those who are lost, including my own family, though they may believe in you they do not have a relationship with you, may they see you through me or someone else in their lives.

Luke 14: 26-27

These verses stuck out to me but I'm unable to come up with an observation/application I'm open to anyones insights!

S:  If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, Wife and Children, brothers and sisters, yes even their own life.  Such a person cannot be my disciple.  And whomever does not carry their own cross and follow me cannon be my disciple.

O:????

A:????

K:  Lord I know you are trying to say or point something out to me by my ignorance is getting the better of me.  Please Holy Spirit give the the understanding of these verses as my desire is to follow and to take up my cross.
