Madelyn and Aaron's baby girl passed away and was delivered November 4.  Please continue to pray for them and their parents (so baby's grandparents).   Please pray for Dava and Jonathon.  They are in a waiting period for a possible adoption.

It's so sad.  But God is there, and He is good.  There is none other like Him.

Thank you.

I wanted to give you an update about this family.

Madelyn and Aaron are 15 weeks away from their baby girl being born.  She will have and underdeveloped brain, but they do not know what the extent of the handicap will be.  They are facing it with God's grace and love.  She is so brave.

Jonathan and Dava have been wanting to adopt from foster care.  They are all set up and ready to welcome 2 young girls into their home.  At the last moment, the birth mother decided to show up for the last court date.  They won't be able to adopt them at this time.  However, the judge is letting the girls still visit Jonathan and Dava.  The birth father is more than willing to give up his rights.   Pray for this family, and these little girls.  May they be blessed beyond understanding.  If they aren't able to adopt the girls, then at least the girls will have had a little time spent in a Christian home.

Thanks for letting me share.

I want to thank all of you for participating!!!  I need a lot of heart changes.  Focusing on reading my Bible and praying (talking to God) with more focus will change it.
Thanks to TBG, itsjenniferrose, for today
and fishlicity, and MitziHubbard (from yesterday).
I agree.

2Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. ESV

Underlined and bolded to show emphasis.  It's not our grace nor our knoweldge, BUT it comes from Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dear Lord, please grant me your grace and your knowledge.  Please make me humble and help me serve where you want me to serve.  Lord take out my stoney heart and replace it with the love that only comes from you.  Help me to forgive the hurts that I am unable on my own to forgive due to selfishness.  Help me to point people to you and give you the glory.  In Jesus Name. Amen.

2 Peter 2 - For me this says loudly to keep my focus on Christ.  It is so easy to stray.  If you aren't reading and learning God's word, why wouldn't you follow the false prophets of the day?
False prophets make evil sound like so much fun and such a good idea, but it leads to vanity and destruction - and hell.

TBG  Thanks for all the comments and the prayers.  You put it well.

As for the personality, I have to agree with you.  I too am usually not a quiet person.  My personality is quite bubbly.

Meek - I need a larger portion.

I completely agree with you about the media.  It is so deceiving. During the summers we turn off the  TV for the most part (only watch if we have to work out when it rains).

I have tried too often to correct my husband.  We are actually doing a Bible Study at church about Love and Respect.  I have a long way to go in the respect area.

Again, thank you for all the comments.

If you want a slightly interesting read, bear with me.  My journey would make a very interesting movie or novel. This is the condensed version.
Reading 1 Peter chapters 1 and 2 is like ointment to my soul.  It's like a song being sung and my sould dances to the rhythm of God's Word.  You yearn for more.
In 1Peter 1, verses 6 and 7 jump out at me.   As a Christian, I have been a pretty poor example of going through trial valiantly.  I think I'm still in the tail of my storm and I hope that this Bible study will project me like vomit from a big fish into some greener pastures for a while. If not physically, at least spiritually.
 Let me explain. . .
I had been feeling that my dh (dear husband) and I weren't on the same page spiritually for quite some time.  I felt like God wasn't talking to me any more.  I thought He wanted our family to go in one direction and it didn't work out.  The storm really started about November 2012, I had gone off of birth control pills for the last time.  My hormones and emotional state was out of wack.  I was disappointed in my dh leading, I couldn't find purpose and I was really bothered that I couldn't hear from God.   He keeps whispering wait, but I'm so impatient.  I was depressed.  I am a SAHM w/ 4 children.  My youngest is very emotionally draining to me and very demanding of my time and attention (yes she is just like me .  Anyway, to make a long story short: (God whispers. . . wait)
husband - March - head on car accident  - scary (thank God for seatbelts), June - heart stent (he's only 38 and physically fit), but he had damage to his heart from radiation ffor cancer that he had 15 years prior, he's had other health conditions  this last year - involving at least 6 other body parts.
son-hospitalized for illness in March ( no one came to hospital to visit and I was also sick while I was caring for him there)
sister - broke foot
mom- diagnosed with cancer  (is cancer free now) and  a

Please pray for my Pastor's family.  His name is David and his wife is Debbie.  They have 2 grown children.  Aaron (son) and (wife-Madelyn) who are pregnant and due in 19 weeks and Dava (daughter) and (husband-Jonathon).

This family is going through a lot of loss this year.  David had a heart stent placed in his widowmaker in June (he's doing quite well now).  Dava miscarried in early June. Madelyn just found out that her baby will either be stillborn or will be severely retarded as the baby's brain is not developing correctly.  Madelyn just lost her mom a year ago to cancer.  Her mom was either in her 40s or 50s.

This breaks my heart for them.  I know they have a lot of faith in this family, but I know this has been some difficult times for them.  I know God has a plan and I know that He is faithful, but still sometimes we go through grief and heartache.

Also, please pray for Dava and Jonathon's situation.  Hopefully, I can share some good news about their story soon.

Please pray for them.

I just got caught up today w/ the reading plan so I am going to point out a few things from Chapter 2-6.

It strikes me how Haman wants to be exalted by everyone.  Basically, he wanted to be God.  Mordecai who is only to give honor and the act of bowing down to God refuses to give it to him.  The "god" Haman gets angry.

How many of us are like Haman today?  Others don't bow down to us, so we feel we have to demand our "rights."  Our society reflects much of what is going on in the Media and Perian time.  They were full of sin and weren't honoring God the creator.

In response to itsjenniferrose point 1)  I have to share a story.  This summer my family and I were on the beach in Alabama.  There was this guy w/ tattoos and a beard.  Scruffy looking guy.  My family and I weren't sitting very far from him and  I was wondering if we were safe.  Then I went back to ignoring him.  Then all of a sudden I hear him singing praise songs.  I was ashamed at the thought of my families safety.   I once again judged the cover of the book.
Thank you for the 1 Peter5:6-7 Bible verse.  I am in great need of being humble and serving out a great portion of grace towards my husband.  A few days ago there was a blog entry on the Women Living Well blog that talked about Grace toward your husbands.  I needed that.

I am in my 40s. I've been married for 16 years.  My dh (dear husband) and I have 4 children.  I am looking forward to being a part of this Bible study.  I have been very active in my church for the last 5 or more years.  This year my dh and I are deciding to take a break and really focus on our marriage.  We need to really be alert and listening to what God has to say and where He wants to take us.
