Ecclesiastes 3 1-8

There is a time for everything,
    and a season for every activity under the heavens:

    a time to be born and a time to die,
    a time to plant and a time to uproot,
    a time to kill and a time to heal,
    a time to tear down and a time to build,
     a time to weep and a time to laugh,
    a time to mourn and a time to dance,…"

Clearly many things are permissible yet our implementation in timing is essential. Those that are slow to speak and quick to listen may be the best at understanding this concept.

These verses are away for me to grow. Waiting to react will be something to put into practice. The phrase, “timing is everything” takes on a different meaning when you see it in light of these verses. Ultimately when the Holy Spirit guides me “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I will try more to allow his guidance in my life.

“For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!” (Mark 5:8)

Because there is power in Jesus name we can also drive out unclean spirits. Although, I read in black and white about the spiritual world in my bible-- it does not mean that I translate that correctly to the world I see. When someone is possessed do I pray for them? Do I have the discernment to know that there is a demonic stronghold? Do I fast and pray as the scriptures say I should?
.
These instructions in Matthew were given to the disciples and I believe this is still relevant today.

As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’  Heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”

Demons need homes and unfortunately they dwell in souls. If we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we need not fear for the demons cannot dwell near. But our friends and family that do not know God are at risk of demons that may need or want a place to dwell.

My application is that I think that if I was really in tune with God I would recognize the strongholds of Satan. The demons still possess people and if I am unaware then what good am I? I pray that God would increase my discernment. I want to be more like Jesus. If I can free others from demons, than in Jesus name I ask I can and will be used by God in this way. Amen.

Matthew 4:18

“Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”

So close—yet so far away. When I look at my goals in life I want to produce fruit, good fruit. I want my life to be a living sacrifice. Yet I am so far away. Here in these verses I see clearly that I am like the seed sown among thorns…”but the desires for other things come in and choke the word making it unfruitful.” I am unfruitful I feel at this time. My pray is that God would prune me and help me to bear fruit.God is faithful, unwaving.

I want to thank the leader of this study Transformed Life for your faithfulness with this study. What a testimony of the work that God is doing in and through you.

“But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.” (Acts 6:10)

Reading this verse reminds me of 2 Timothy 1:7, “The Lord has not given us a Spirit of Fear but of power, strength, and a sound mind.” I have often allowed fear to have a stronghold in my life. Yet, God word tells us “that neither life or death, principalities or angels, nor height or depth can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus are Lord. God is love; Perfect love casts out all fear. Knowing that God’s Spirit abides in us we can boldly proclaim the gospel .By allowing God’s Spirit to give us wisdom not from this world but from above, we are able to be bold and not fear.  I am reminded of Paul who in a letter to the Ephesians asked for prayer so that he could boldly speak the gospel. I too would like a faith that is fearless and total devoted to God both in my words and deeds.

And pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Ephesians 6: 20)

Acts 2

These scriptures struck me the most. What great Power God gives us.

“‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

King David said this about him: ‘I see that the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope.

For David himself never ascended into heaven, yet he said, ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand

And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.”

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord”   (Acts 3: 19)

I am reminded of this simple truth. That we all need a Savior. That we all have fallen short of the glory of God. I know that I am washed by reading the word of God that renews my mind. I am seeking the refilling of the Holy Spirit. I think that just like the apostles that were able to heal a lame man miracles still occur. I am not the person I was ten years ago, a week ago, or even a day. But I strive to be a good person who can turn, repent, and receive the filling and empowering of the Holy Ghost. I know when I am weak He is strong. It is a process but I am willing to begin again. Praying that “he who began a good work in me would be faithful to complete it.”   Have  a blessed day,

 “ Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen… Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.”
 (Acts 1: 24-25)

Awesome! I love the encouragement in these simple verses. They prayed that God would anoint the next disciple. Then, they cast lots—a common practice at that time. They knew that God was the one who would chose his new leader. It helps when we go into the world to know that our bosses and church leaders were chosen not by men but by God. Although they may stumble, they are capable and deserve our respect. They also need our prayers because just like Judas they can also fall.

"She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms."

 I think it is important for women to be mentally, physically, and spiritually strong. I have been disciplined this summer with exercise and health. I feel so much better now that I can lift more and have strength.

 Discussion: Dreams, literally I dream all the time. And together with my husband we have so many goals, visions, and ideas we want to accomplish together. The latest dream we have discussed is wanting to help the Homeless. We want to buy property and provide a way for people that are less fortunate to live there. I think this dream will take some time. But I believe God placed it in both mine and my husband's heart. I wrote a blog post on the topic of dreams; it is one of my favorite posts. If you have time, check it out: Dreams

                                                        Proverbs 31: 10-12

                                                "Who can find a virtuous wife?
                                                   For her worth is far above rubies.
                                           The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
                                                   So he will have no lack of gain.
                                             She does him good and not evil
                                                     All the days of her life.”

 Proverbs 31 illustrates a woman who has no flaws and is the ideal wife, mother, and entrepreneur. Everywoman is described in this chapter whether you are a stay at home mom or a business woman.

 Yet, common sense tell us that there is no such thing as perfection or the ideal package.
 “Who can find a virtuous wife?” A rhetorical question in which we know the answer—no one!

 It’s great to have high expectations but to place ourselves, as woman, to this standard is impossible. As I read through this chapter, I am impressed but not stressed. I see a vision or architype of perfection. Jesus represents that as well. We strive to be like Jesus, but know by our sinful nature we can never fill His shoes.

 [color=black]The Proverbs 31 woman is a myth. She is the made up in the imagination of a mom want

                                   If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
                                   And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
                                   For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,

                                             And the Lord will reward you.”
                                                    (Proverbs 25: 21-22)

God tells us in his word not to overcome evil with evil but to overcome evil with good. This verse illustrates why this is so true. When we do well to our enemy it is as if we are melting away any misperceptions, ill-will, and animosity. It is difficult to continue to hold contempt towards another when they are blessing us. If we continue steadfastly with good will towards our enemy, eventually our enemy will be overcome will goodness. And we will have a restored relationship.
