Scripture: "An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness to his bones" Proverbs 12:4

Observation: The wording of this verse is so powerful to me. Wives are supposed to be helpers to their husbands. In a marriage two people are joined together and they become one flesh. When one half of the flesh is not being helpful and being a good example of a Christian wife, the whole flesh fails. The husband cannot be effective when the wife is causing shame.

Application: When I get married this will be a verse I need to keep in mind a lot. I will need to be the crown of my husband and not rottenness to his bones.

Scripture: "A gracious woman retains honor, but ruthless men retain riches."

Observation: The word "gracious" means godly and marked by kindness and courtesy. When we do what is pleasing to God we are women of honor. We should make it a point to be gracious women.

Application: I can apply this to the way I treat people. It is so important to be kind and gentle to other people, even when it is hard. By being gracious I can show that I care about people. I can show respect to people even if they are not respecting me.

Scripture:
"For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword." Proverbs 5: 3-4

Observation:
These verses show a sweet talking woman who is deceitful. This is behavior we should avoid. We need to be genuine and maintain morals. We also need to make sure that we have homes of high moral standards.

Application:
This passage shows what not to do. I can make it clear that I am a woman of high moral standards. This passage also reminds me how important it will be for my future children to have a mother who sets a good example.

Scripture:
"But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day" Proverbs 4:18

Observation:
As Christians we are supposed to shine. We see that in this verse and also when Jesus tells us to "let our light shine before men so that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven" in Matthew 5:16. When we shine we glorify God and we also show other people how to glorify God.

Application:
This verse shows me how I am supposed to live as a Christian. I want to shine bright. I want people to see me as a woman who lives a life glorifying God.

Scripture:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths" Proverbs 3:5-6

Observation:
I love how this verse says "He shall direct your paths." These two verses are so relevant today. There are always things that pop up throughout the day that require trust in God. Sometimes we are faced with a situation where we have no clue what to do. Those are times when we just have to be still and let God work. He will take care of everything. The only thing we have to do is trust him.

Application:
This is a verse I try to use in my everyday life. There are times when I don't know how or when certain things are going to happen. There are times when stress comes up and I don't know exactly what to do. I have to be still and rest in God. I just have to remember that He always working and that he has his plans. His wisdom is perfect and he is directing my paths. It is a huge blessing to have God, who loves us so much, directing my paths.

Scripture: "He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk uprightly" Proverbs 2:7
Observation: The word "upright" is used twice in this verse. Upright behavior means to be honorable and/or honest. If we are honest and we are careful to do what pleases God, then God will give us wisdom
Application: I need to do the best I can to glorify God. I need to continue to grow and make sure I am doing the right things. I know God will continue to make me wiser.

Hey ladies! I'm 22 and I've done group bible studies before, but this is my first time doing an online bible study. I'm excited to try it! I'm from Georgia. I'm currently getting my bachelor's degree in religious studies and I will graduate in Spring 2016. I know this bible study will be a new opportunity for me to grow!
